Case Study: Sibelga achieves unified security and improved efficiency & compliance with Genetec Security Center

How the team made massive strides in securing offices, warehouses, data rooms, and technical sites as well as their electricity and gas distribution network

Sibelga, the distribution system operator serving more than 500,000 households and businesses across 19 municipalities in the Brussels region, needed to strengthen protection for people, assets and critical operations across 50 sites while meeting CER and NIS2 compliance requirements. Having used Genetec’s Omnicast video system since 2010, Sibelga issued a tender and—together with integrator Securitas—selected Genetec to deliver a unified physical security platform (Genetec Security Center) integrating Omnicast, Synergis, Sipelia and AutoVu, plus third‑party intrusion and intercom systems.

Genetec implemented Security Center to centralize video, access control, ALPR, intercom and intrusion management across all sites, enabling 24/7 coordinated monitoring with Securitas and Sibelga’s in‑house teams. The unified Genetec solution consolidated operations across 50 locations, improved operational efficiency (freeing staff to work mobile and take on more dynamic tasks), provided parking/vehicle tracking via AutoVu, and put Sibelga on a clear path to meet NIS2/CER compliance.
