Case Study: Claro Puerto Rico achieves unified critical-infrastructure security, improved compliance and efficiency with Genetec Security Center

A Genetec Case Study

Preview of the Claro Puerto Rico Case Study

How a large telecommunications company in the Caribbean ramped up efficiency, building security, and regulatory compliance by updating its access control and video surveillance solution across 250 locations

Claro Puerto Rico, a leading telecommunications provider and designated critical infrastructure in Puerto Rico, faced an aging access control system that was nearing end-of-life and limiting updates, functionality and regulatory compliance. To consolidate physical security, boost cybersecurity, and meet stringent U.S. government standards, Claro selected Genetec and its Security Center platform (with Omnicast, Synergis and Streamvault) to replace and unify their legacy systems.

Genetec implemented a unified Security Center solution—integrating video, access control, visitor management and hardened Streamvault servers—while providing continuous support during the migration. The deployment improved incident response and operator efficiency (reducing the learning curve from six to two months), added redundancy with six Streamvault servers across two locations, and will enable management of about 1,200 cameras and 1,400 doors across 250 sites, strengthening security, compliance and operational savings for Claro Puerto Rico.
