Factory in China chooses Genetec Security Center as part of impressive technological upgrade

Hangzhou Cigarette Factory, a major manufacturing subsidiary in Zhejiang, China, needed a comprehensive technology upgrade during a multi-year production expansion to improve security, quality control and operational visibility. The factory selected Genetec’s Security Center unified platform, including the Omnicast™ IP video surveillance system, to replace legacy systems and support decentralized control with centralized management.

Genetec implemented Security Center with Omnicast™ to manage over 720 HD fixed, CCD and PTZ cameras with failover, multicast and distributed storage capabilities, delivering continuous operation and bandwidth optimization. The solution lowered overheads, accelerated fault detection and complaint handling, improved production efficiency and granular access control, and helped the factory win provincial and public-safety awards; Hangzhou plans to add another 600 cameras across 300,000 m² and retain video for six months.
