A Genetec Case Study
Hilton Central School, a PreK–12 district in New York serving over 4,500 students, was struggling with a decade-old analog surveillance and disparate access control setup that provided only about three hours of video retention and poor coverage. To modernize security, the district partnered with Genetec (with integrator Frontrunner Network Systems) on a phased three-year upgrade to Genetec Security Center, including Omnicast and Synergis, to replace aging DVRs and unify video and access control.
Genetec implemented a unified solution with Omnicast video (500+ Axis and ~50 Arecont IP cameras), Synergis access control for just over 35 doors, six redundant servers and roughly 40 TB of storage (targeting 30 days retention). The Genetec deployment cut mean time to remediate incidents from hours to minutes, enabled visual tracking that saves hours of investigation, provided mobile access for administrators, improved visitor management, and increased parental confidence, while leaving room to scale the system district‑wide.
