COLTS boosts security at new mass transit facility with Genetec IP Video Surveillance

The County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS) needed a state‑of‑the‑art security solution for its new $12.5 million Lackawanna Transit Center to protect passengers, support tenant operations (Martz Trailways) and improve collaboration with local police. COLTS worked with integrator Communication Systems Inc. to deploy Genetec’s unified Security Center platform, including Omnicast™, Federation™ and Mobile features.

Genetec’s solution now manages about 30 Bosch IP cameras, gives staff remote desk and mobile access, and partitions tenant access for Martz, while federating select feeds with Scranton Police. The system has shortened response times, provided evidence that helped return a missing teenager, improved operational monitoring of bus arrivals, and offers a scalable, centrally managed platform for future expansion.
