The City of Ostrava, a large regional hub in the Czech Republic, faced a challenge in unifying its growing but siloed city-wide surveillance systems. They needed a centralized security platform to streamline operations, improve coordination among emergency services, and build a scalable foundation for future expansion. To address this, the city chose the Genetec Security Center platform from vendor Genetec.

Genetec implemented its Security Center solution to create a unified Municipal Integrated Camera System (MIKS), centralizing the management of nearly 1,500 cameras. This provided real-time visibility across operational centers and improved incident response. The results were significant; within 12 months, the system helped operators handle over 4,266 security incidents, identify 75 wanted individuals, and detain 21 suspects, greatly enhancing public safety and operational efficiency for the City of Ostrava.
