BJ's Wholesale Club Maintains a Safe and Secure Environment With Surveillance Software

BJ’s Wholesale Club, a leading membership warehouse retailer, faced growing security, safety and asset-protection challenges as its legacy PC‑based DVR/analog camera systems reached end of life. The old systems required frequent maintenance, offered limited storage and poor image quality, and could not scale with BJ’s expansion or support remote review and integrations. To address these needs BJ’s selected Genetec’s Omnicast IP video surveillance platform (deployed with Axis network cameras and encoders) to modernize its in‑store monitoring.

Genetec implemented Omnicast across BJ’s stores to provide scalable, enterprise management of thousands of cameras, multistreaming to optimize bandwidth, failover/redundancy for continuous recording, and POS integration capabilities to speed investigations. The solution is live at 75 locations with plans for 60 more (targeting 135 total), and supports stores with up to 125 cameras; BJ’s reports substantially improved video quality, more effective and faster investigations, reliable remote monitoring from corporate, reduced DVR maintenance, and strong training/support from Genetec.
