A Genetec Case Study
Monroe Community College, a 314‑acre SUNY campus serving over 34,000 students, faced inefficient, manual parking permit administration and difficulty identifying scofflaws across 20 lots and 5,500 spaces. After testing options, MCC partnered with Frontrunner Network Systems and selected Genetec AutoVu, an automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) solution, to replace physical permits and improve enforcement accuracy.
Genetec deployed AutoVu mobile units on enforcement vehicles and AutoVu Sharp fixed cameras integrated with Security Center, BOSSCARS permit management, and pay‑by‑plate stations to create a license plate‑enabled parking system. The solution delivered a 750% increase in scofflaw identification, achieved ROI in six weeks (vs. a projected six months), eliminated physical permits to save $18,000 a year, and improved enforcement efficiency and customer service across campus.
