Case Study: Sage Realty achieves centralized cloud-based access control and a streamlined tenant experience with Genea

A Genea Case Study

How Cloud Access Control is Helping Sage Realty

Sage Realty, a New York–based commercial real estate firm managing six Midtown Manhattan office buildings and over 3 million sq. ft. with more than 10,000 credentialed users, faced a fragmented, on‑premises access control system that was siloed and hard to manage. To modernize tenant experience and centralize security, Sage selected Genea’s cloud-based access control solution (Genea Access Control) to replace legacy software and enable remote, portfolio‑wide administration.

Genea implemented a cloud takeover across Sage’s ~3 million sq. ft., reusing roughly half of the existing non‑proprietary hardware, cleaning up duplicate user records, and rolling out tenant portals, automated credential provisioning and mobile credentials (integrated via VTS Rise into Sage’s Sage Connective app). The result: centralized “single pane of glass” management across six buildings, a streamlined provisioning workflow for thousands of users, reduced hardware maintenance by moving to the cloud, and a cleaner, more efficient database — measurable improvements in scale (6 buildings, ~10,000 users, ~3M sq. ft.) and operational efficiency delivered by Genea.
