Hines, a global real estate investment, development, and management firm with a multi-million‑square‑foot portfolio, was struggling with inaccurate utility billing, incorrect multipliers, unread or estimated meters, and a lack of transparency and support from its prior third‑party biller. Hines engaged Genea to address these metering and billing challenges using Genea’s cloud‑based Submeter Billing service and Web Portal.

Genea conducted a portfolio‑wide audit, corrected outdated rate/multiplier usage, commissioned 700+ meters across Hines’ portfolio, applied QR‑tagged asset labels, deployed the Genea Submeter Billing app and portal, and delivered training plus 24/7 support. As a result, Genea restored correct tenant billing, provided full system and billing transparency with an auditable trail, established a uniform rate methodology, and positioned Hines to reduce accounting workload going forward.
