BHP Jansen Project handles 177+ reservations per hour with Gemstone Logistics

The BHP Jansen Project required support in managing the complex travel and accommodation logistics for its remote potash mine workforce. To address this challenge, they partnered with vendor Gemstone Logistics, which utilized its proprietary CIRYS software, a web-based reservation and reporting tool designed for large industrial projects.

Gemstone Logistics implemented CIRYS to seamlessly manage charter bus reservations and onsite lodge stays. The solution decentralized the travel coordination workload to subcontractors and integrated via APIs with BHP's existing systems. This provided a single source of truth for all worker data. The implementation achieved significant results, including the capacity to handle over 177 travel and room reservations per hour and the ability to scale from 10 to 88 system users from startup to peak project capacity.
