PharmAdva, a healthcare technology company, developed a connected pill dispensing device to help reduce medication errors and improve patient accountability. To bring the product to market securely and in compliance with medical device requirements, they partnered with Geisel Software, which had the connected medical device experience needed for the project.

Geisel Software set up the Linux platform on the embedded device, built the connected-device communication code, and helped establish the cloud backend service. The company also designed a secure caregiver portal for monitoring medication adherence and device status, enabling notifications when patients missed doses or devices became unresponsive while keeping patient data protected.
