Case Study: SAG-AFTRA improves website usability and consolidates digital properties with GeekHive

A GeekHive Case Study

Preview of the SAG-AFTRA Case Study

How do I rebuild a website to improve usability

SAG-AFTRA, the performers’ union representing more than 160,000 artists and entertainers, needed to merge two separate websites into one unified digital presence. After an earlier consolidation attempt left the site fragmented and difficult to manage, SAG-AFTRA turned to GeekHive for a Drupal-based rebuild that would improve usability, streamline content management, and better serve both new and existing members.

GeekHive rebuilt the site on Drupal 7, cleaning up the codebase, consolidating fields, creating reusable modular components, and improving the site’s structure and data model. The team also implemented Drupal modules like Paragraphs, Media, and Views to support flexible content editing, asset management, and advanced data displays. As a result, SAG-AFTRA gained a more intuitive, scalable CMS with improved user experience, document management, internal systems integration, and a foundation ready for a future Drupal 8 upgrade.
