MWI Animal Health, part of AmerisourceBergen, wanted to transform its utilitarian veterinary supply marketplace into a world-class shopping experience that made purchasing easier for large-volume customers. GeekHive helped address the challenge by recommending and implementing a new commerce platform and content management system, with Sitecore and InsiteCommerce at the center of the solution.

GeekHive built an adaptive, rules-driven search and personalization engine that used Elastic Search and Sitecore to show only products a customer was allowed to buy based on location, licensing, regulations, and pricing. The system can process thousands of business rules and more than 30,000 product options in under a second, enabling MWI Animal Health to manage billions of pricing and availability permutations while improving the customer experience and laying the groundwork for future API-driven reordering capabilities.
