EyeSave, an online retailer of discounted name-brand eyewear and accessories, needed a way to help shoppers quickly find the best products across a large and growing inventory. As traffic and product offerings increased, its older relational database structure caused frequent crashes and made it difficult to serve uncached data to search engines. GeekHive was brought in to modernize the customer’s eCommerce infrastructure.

GeekHive implemented a custom front-end eCommerce platform and back-end fulfillment system using RavenDB alongside EyeSave’s existing SQL database, including a synchronization tool, search indexes, and a new product search algorithm. The result was plug-and-play deployment with no downtime, faster performance, improved usability, and the ability to handle heavy traffic and large inventory without additional hardware. EyeSave also saw stronger SEO performance, with product pages ranking higher in search results after the redesign.
