A GE Healthcare Case Study
Trident Medical Center, a 296-bed tertiary care hospital in Charleston, S.C., wanted to improve radiology exam efficiency, scan turnaround time, and scanner utilization across a department handling 140,000 exams a year. GE Healthcare’s Centricity Imaging Analytics – Real-Time Dashboard was used to help staff better monitor patient progress and identify delays in real time.
GE Healthcare implemented a real-time analytics dashboard that pulled data from scheduling, lab, pharmacy, RIS, and PACS systems to give radiology staff live visibility into workflow status and delay reasons. The result was a 25 to 30 minute reduction in X-ray turnaround time and a 15 to 20 minute reduction for CT studies, along with better staff coordination, improved patient satisfaction, and data to justify process improvements such as point-of-care blood testing.
