Case Study: Sai Teramedo improves remote radiology workflow with GE Healthcare AW Server

Creating an efficient remote reading environment

Sai Teramedo, the remote reading/interpretation center of Toda Central Medical Group (TMG), needed a way to improve radiology productivity, expand capacity, and reduce turnaround times while reading for 15 facilities. To support a growing volume of about 3,700 cases per month, the team turned to GE Healthcare and its AW Server to create a more efficient remote reading environment.

GE Healthcare implemented the AW Server, a thick/thin client solution that lets radiologists perform 2D, 3D, and 4D post-processing, reading, reporting, and dictation from a single workstation. The result was faster, more flexible workflow across Sai Teramedo and the hospitals it serves, with better overflow handling, easier access to specialists, and less overtime for technologists creating 3D images.
