Case Study: United States Olympic Committee achieves faster, global athlete care with GE Healthcare Centricity Practice Solution

A GE Healthcare Case Study

Preview of the United States Olympic Committee Case Study

Building a Better Practice with the United States Olympic Committee Medical Center

The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Sports Medicine team faced an unusual challenge: caring for elite athletes who are constantly traveling around the world while coordinating with a large, rotating network of clinicians and volunteers. To support faster access to complete medical information and improve consistency across care teams, GE Healthcare and the USOC turned to Centricity Practice Solution, an EMR platform designed to streamline records and workflows.

GE Healthcare implemented Centricity Practice Solution with customized injury, illness, and treatment forms, plus patient portal access, to make documentation simpler and more mobile for the USOC’s global medical team. The result was a faster onboarding process for about 140 volunteer healthcare providers, more intuitive workflows, better real-time data capture and analysis, and quicker access to athlete records anywhere in the world—helping the USOC prepare for the 2012 London Olympic Games with a more connected, efficient medical center.
