Polinter Reduces Corrective Maintenance By 14%, Increases Preventative Maintenance By 25% With APM

Polinter, a Venezuelan petrochemical company, needed to modernize its quality management to meet changing standards and streamline disparate data systems to reduce costs and improve Operational Excellence. To drive this asset performance management (APM) transformation, Polinter adopted GE Digital’s Predix Asset Performance Management (Predix APM).

Using GE Digital’s Predix APM, Polinter formalized four sub-processes (asset definition and classification, asset strategy management, asset performance evaluation, and recommendation management), trained staff, and involved end users to embed reliability into quality processes. As a result, mechanical availability improved in two of three plants, corrective maintenance fell 14% and preventative maintenance rose 25% between 2012–2015, with added gains in client satisfaction, personnel motivation, and more efficient resource use.
