Petropriar Uses Operator Rounds To Improve Asset Performance And Avoid Unplanned Outages

Petropriar (Petróleos de Venezuela), a subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. operating oil and gas assets in the Orinoco Belt, needed an easier way to manage inspections of rotating, electrical and static equipment at a major industrial complex. The company engaged GE Digital to deploy Predix Asset Performance Management (Predix APM), using the operator rounds capability (APM Health) to digitize and standardize condition monitoring and inspection workflows.

GE Digital configured Predix APM, trained more than 200 engineers and operators, and implemented visual inspections, parameter checks, thermography and SAP integration to capture consistent asset‑health data. The implementation gave Petropriar a robust data-collection and analysis system that enabled early detection of damaged gauges, out-of-limit equipment and training gaps, standardized condition data, reduced work notifications, improved cross‑department integration and lower maintenance costs.
