A Large Renewable & Clean Energy Generation Company faced misalignment between traders and plant managers across ~7.1 GW of wind, solar and natural gas assets, lacking a clear view of plant capacity, output and thermal performance and concerned about leaks that could hurt heat rates. They partnered with GE Digital to address forecasting and operational visibility challenges.

GE Digital implemented a digital twin and thermal model of the natural gas plants, plus a forecasting model and Operation Optimization to surface issues. Within two weeks the system identified leaks and miswired/mislabeled sensors and recommended repairs; after fixes the plant delivered about $30K/day (≈$2M/year) of additional capacity and enabled traders to bid true capacity into the market, boosting profitability.
