Kahramaa Finds Grid Reliability With Digital

Kahramaa, the sole transmission and distribution system owner and operator for electricity and water in Qatar, needed to identify and prioritize maintenance and asset replacement based on the condition and risk of assets across its 11,300 distribution substations and roughly 150,000 assets. To meet this goal, Kahramaa engaged GE Digital to deploy an Asset Performance Management (APM) solution.

GE Digital implemented the APM system to provide consistent analytics, condition‑based risk recommendations, and fleet‑wide reporting, enabling Kahramaa to analyze grid‑wide asset health and prioritize actions. As a result, substation faults were reduced by more than 50% and Kahramaa achieved a 180% ROI within two years.
