A GE Digital Case Study
Israel’s National Water Company (Mekorot), which supplies 70% of Israel’s water and 80% of its drinking water, faced rising production costs and sharply growing demand in an arid climate. To tighten process control, improve energy and operational efficiency, and enable real-time decision-making, Mekorot deployed GE Digital’s automation stack, including PACSystems high-availability controllers and GE Digital HMI/SCADA for centralized monitoring.
GE Digital implemented a redundant PACSystems high-availability solution with full-controller backup and a single-control-center HMI/SCADA view, allowing continuous 24/7 operation even during system upgrades. The deployment reduced unplanned downtime, enabled the plant to run with fewer shifts and personnel, and delivered measurable gains in operational efficiency and cost reduction through true redundancy and real-time monitoring.
