AusNet Network Services, Victoria’s largest diversified energy infrastructure company, faced regulatory pressure to modernize aging electric meters into a smart meter network and provide accurate performance data to retailers and regulators. To address this, AusNet Network Services adopted GE Digital’s centralized data-integration platform, using machine learning, artificial intelligence and semantic data modeling to unify complex smart-meter and grid data.

GE Digital’s solution created a single source of truth and a “single pane of glass” for ICT teams and operators, delivering real-time asset status and enabling predictive servicing. The deployment supported 700 meters and provided 20 market retailers with accurate daily meter performance data, eliminated unnecessary truck rolls of 300–400 miles to investigate faults, and reduced operational expense while improving meter and network uptime.
