Marine Credit Union Increases Auto-Approvals with GDS Link’s Credit Decisioning

Marine Credit Union, a multi-state credit union serving more than 75,000 members, needed to increase both auto-decision and auto-approval rates to streamline lending, improve member experience, and reduce workload. Their complex, inflexible in-house scoring model was producing auto-decisions on 37% of applications and an overall auto-approval rate of 17.86%, so they engaged GDS Link (Modellica Analytics) in collaboration with TransUnion to modernize decisioning.

GDS Link’s Modellica Analytics team implemented a flexible loan-approval model that integrates with Marine’s legacy systems and leverages existing PTI and exposure look‑up tables. The GDS Link solution drove substantial gains: auto-approvals rose from 625 to 1,400 (+124%), manual review hours fell from 551.25 to 350 (−36.5%), and projected total bookings increased from 1,087 to 1,372 (+26%), while improving decision speed and scalability.
