Menno Hospital saves over $29,000 annually with GDI Ainsworth

Menno Hospital faced a significant challenge with its inefficient HVAC system, which operated continuously at a constant speed. This led to excessive energy consumption, frequent unscheduled maintenance, and equipment failures that compromised the reliability of its 24/7 long-term care facility. To address this, the hospital partnered with vendor GDI Ainsworth to implement a series of energy conservation measures (ECMs) and HVAC optimizations.

GDI Ainsworth's solution involved retrofitting boilers, installing CO₂ sensors and smart VFD controls on air handlers, and optimizing control sequences. This approach successfully eliminated unscheduled maintenance and drastically reduced equipment failures. The project achieved annualized utility savings of over $29,000 and reduced energy consumption by approximately 825 GJ of gas and 68,000 kWh of electricity, greatly improving operational stability for Menno Hospital.
