Forever Entertainment showcases a GDevelop-made game at Poznań Game Arena 2025 for 70,000 players

Forever Entertainment employee and indie developer Piotr Bunkowski faced the challenge of creating a unique hybrid of first-person shooter and full-motion video (FMV) genres after a five-year hiatus from game development. He needed an accessible game engine that could handle his ambitious vision without requiring him to relearn complex coding languages, having previously felt overwhelmed by traditional engines like Unity.

Using GDevelop, Bunkowski implemented a creative solution, manually cutting hundreds of video frames into sprites to overcome engine limitations and achieve the desired FMV aesthetic. This allowed him to successfully build and showcase his game, One Rotten Oath, at the major Poznań Game Arena 2025 expo to a positive reception from players. GDevelop enabled him to complete the game's advanced testing phase and prepare it for a full release, demonstrating the engine's capability to support fully-fledged, experimental titles.
