GAVS Technologies worked with a prestigious U.S. university, one of the oldest and largest private universities in the country, serving more than 50,000 students and 19,000 employees. The university was running Oracle across a complex IT environment and faced performance issues, heavy manual intervention, and rising licensing and maintenance costs, especially for large HR and Finance data processing and hourly campus alerts during Covid operations.

GAVS Technologies migrated the university’s data and operations from Oracle to Snowflake, using Snowflake’s cloud platform along with Task/Snowpipe, APIs, Python, and SnowSQL to automate data ingestion, scheduling, and alerting. The solution improved performance and scalability, reduced query and execution times, eliminated much of the database administration burden, and lowered costs by removing Oracle licensing and maintenance overhead while supporting secure sharing and high concurrency across departments.
