A Leading Healthcare Provider in NY Optimizes Server Footprint and Reduces Operational Costs though Server Virtualization

GAVS Technologies helped a leading healthcare provider in New York, the largest voluntary non-profit health care system in the US serving the South and Central Bronx. The organization needed a way to manage more than 90 applications spread across over 20 physical servers, including legacy systems, while improving availability, reducing costs, and creating a formal process to retire unused applications.

GAVS Technologies implemented server virtualization using VMware, along with disk-based backup and a scalable network platform, to assess application dependencies, evaluate workloads, and migrate systems in phases based on criticality. The project retired obsolete systems and cut IT operating costs to around 30%, reduced the server footprint by 50%, and improved high availability and performance through the Citrix virtualization environment.
