Case Study: SNCF Connect & Tech achieves cloud migration and developer autonomy with Gatling Enterprise

A Gatling Case Study

Preview of the SNCF Connect & Tech Case Study

How SNCF Connect & Tech migrated their infrastructure to the Cloud and increased developer autonomy with Gatling Enterprise

SNCF Connect & Tech, the digital and e‑commerce division of SNCF Group, faced rising sessions/second and changing ticketing policies that strained their ability to manage large network traffic while keeping developers autonomous. After finding their previous load‑testing tool limited developer autonomy, they chose Gatling—deploying Gatling Enterprise (self‑hosted and integrated with Maven)—to enable regular performance checks, support a cloud migration, and reduce costs.

Using Gatling Enterprise, SNCF Connect & Tech ran soak and peak tests across 300+ projects, built a Gatling community and boot camps to train 50+ developers, and migrated to a hybrid AWS infrastructure (2020–2021). The result: developers can script, launch and run simulations in under three days, update scenarios and pull test results via API, and the platform now handles 120 TB/month, 2.5+ million daily website visits and 25+ million app downloads—while lowering infrastructure costs and increasing team autonomy.
