How ATPE Uses Video to Train Educator Advocates

The Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) faced a challenge with its traditional large-scale Lobby Day, which had limited impact due to rushed meetings and high travel costs for its educator members. To create a more effective and scalable advocacy training program, ATPE partnered with Gather Voices to implement its video platform.

Using Gather Voices, ATPE embedded self-recorded video assignments into an asynchronous microcredential program. This allowed educators to practice and refine their advocacy messages remotely. The solution created a pipeline of well-prepared advocates, resulting in over 138 microcredentials earned and nearly 90 educators participating in small, effective Capitol meetings, all while significantly reducing travel barriers and costs.
