The British Library, the United Kingdom's national library, alongside its catering partner Graysons, faced the challenge of managing substantial food and beverage demand across its sites while needing to increase efficiency, reduce queueing times, and enhance social distancing compliance. They partnered with vendor Gardiff EPOS to implement a solution using self-service kiosks integrated with an ordering app and their existing EPOS system.
Gardiff EPOS installed four self-service kiosks with integrated card payment, enabling fast automated order and payment processes. This solution significantly reduced queuing times, increased customer flow, and improved staff productivity. The British Library and Graysons achieved a return on investment multiple times over in the first year and gained access to real-time sales and stock analytics through Gardiff's cloud back office service.
