Graysons, a contract caterer managing services for the British Library, faced the challenge of efficiently serving customers across eight dining spaces while reducing queue times and enhancing social distancing compliance. They required a new EPOS system that could handle a high volume of transactions, integrate payments, and be managed from a single cloud-based back office. They partnered with vendor Gardiff EPOS to find a solution.

Gardiff EPOS implemented a comprehensive solution involving 14 tills, self-service kiosks, and an ordering app across the two library sites. This included specialized NFC terminals for charging orders to library cards. The cloud-based back office provided centralized management and real-time reporting. The results for Graysons and the British Library were a significantly optimized customer experience with reduced queues, increased staff productivity, and a return on investment that was achieved multiple times in the first year.
