Case Study: Eastern Michigan University increases student-athlete engagement with Game Plan

Increasing engagement by making development programming accessible to more student-athletes

Eastern Michigan University partnered with Game Plan to address a common challenge for its athletics department: limited staff bandwidth and difficulty scheduling in-person student-athlete development programming across multiple teams. With a smaller support staff, the university needed a way to make personal, professional, and career development more accessible to student-athletes whenever and wherever they needed it.

Game Plan’s interactive software platform helped EMU Athletics expand access to development programming by moving part of it online, while still supporting in-person workshops and presentations. As a result, the department reached more student-athletes, tracked participation in programs such as NCAA-required sexual assault prevention education, and added career services tools to connect athletes with internships and full-time jobs.
