Case Study: University of Maine improves student-athlete development with Game Plan

Creating a pathway to graduation and beyond using Game Plan’s assessment instruments and online career services tools

The University of Maine’s Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes wanted a more consistent, formalized approach to personal and career development for its student-athletes. Before partnering with Game Plan, these efforts depended on a busy support staff and lacked the consistency needed for an effective, department-wide program.

Game Plan implemented its assessment instruments and online career services tools, including targeted modules, student assessments, and Career Profiles for student-athletes from first year through senior year. As a result, the University of Maine created a more holistic support experience from orientation through graduation, while also strengthening recruiting efforts by showing prospective recruits and parents its commitment to student-athlete success in sport, academics, and after graduation.
