A Gallup Case Study
Virginia Tech wanted to make CliftonStrengths® for Students more than a standalone assessment, using it to help students answer deeper questions about identity, purpose, and how they can contribute on campus and beyond. Gallup worked with Virginia Tech to connect strengths-based learning to the university’s five aspirations for student learning, while also scaling it across orientation, residence life, first-year courses, and student support programs.
Using Gallup’s CliftonStrengths® for Students and strengths-based coaching resources, Virginia Tech trained student leaders, faculty, and staff to facilitate strengths conversations and build a campuswide culture of trust, civility, and courageous leadership. The approach reached thousands of students, including a 950-student management course cohort, and helped students make academic changes, prepare for interviews, and better understand how to live out Virginia Tech’s motto of service.
