Furman University's Strengths-Based Approach to Education
Gallup helped Furman University strengthen its student experience by embedding CliftonStrengths for Students across campus. The university wanted a more intentional, strengths-based approach to help students clarify purpose, make better academic and career decisions, and thrive during college and after graduation.
Gallup supported Furman with CliftonStrengths for Students training, Gallup-certified coaching, and a growing network of strengths champions for students, faculty, and staff. Furman integrated strengths into advising, mentoring, leadership, career development, and classroom experiences, and expanded the program online during COVID-19. While the case study does not provide hard metrics, Furman was recognized as a Don Clifton Strengths for Students Award winner, reflecting strong campuswide adoption and meaningful engagement outcomes.
