Louisiana State Museum - Customer Case Study

The Louisiana State Museum, a network of nine sites stewarding more than 500,000 objects, faced fragmented collections workflows, with staff relying on Word, Excel, and multiple servers instead of a unified database. To centralize operations and make collections management more accessible across sites, the museum worked with Gallery Systems to upgrade to TMS Collections, adopt TMS Media Studio as its DAMS, and move hosting to Gallery Systems Managed Hosting.

Gallery Systems implemented the web-based TMS Collections and TMS Media Studio, provided cloud hosting and remote training, and continues to support the team via its help desk. The result: a single, cohesive system used by 26 staff members, elimination of secondary software, consolidated search and batch-update features that save time, centralized reproduction requests, and an ongoing migration of high-resolution images from 10 internal servers into the Gallery Systems cloud—streamlining workflows and redistributing workload across the museum network.
