Galaxy Control Systems Improves Management of Access Activities for ORNL Federal Credit Union

ORNL Federal Credit Union, a community credit union with 32 branches serving Central East Tennessee, faced growing security and operational challenges as it expanded: employees relied on physical keys for restricted areas, many branch areas had no access controls, and creating activity reports or tracking personnel movement was time-consuming. To address this, ORNL FCU selected Galaxy Control Systems and its System Galaxy access control and badging solution.

Galaxy Control Systems deployed System Galaxy first at headquarters and then across all 32 branches, replacing keys with employee ID badges for teller and building access, providing badge creation (photo/logo) and easy deactivation/reactivation, and producing detailed audit trails and activity reports. The implementation streamlined onboarding/offboarding and day-to-day access management, enabled managers to reassign access profiles for coverage, and delivered measurable improvements in tracking who used which door and when—eliminating key-based access and simplifying reporting with Galaxy Control Systems.
