Galaxy Control Systems Delivers Valuable Benefits to School Security System

Maryville College, a private liberal arts school in Maryville, Tennessee, needed a flexible, easy-to-administer access control solution to secure its 350‑acre historic campus while supporting multi‑purpose student ID cards (access, dining, bookstore). Galaxy Control Systems was selected to provide its System Galaxy access control platform to replace and upgrade legacy readers and to simplify ongoing installations and renovations across campus buildings.

Galaxy Control Systems implemented System Galaxy beginning in 2003 and expanded the system to 12–13 buildings with prox readers and network‑friendly deployment. The solution enabled student IDs to be used for building access and campus services, let staff quickly disable/restore privileges (eliminating mass database purges), generated alarms for propped doors, integrated with video, and produced detailed entry reports—improving incident investigations and reducing administrative effort; Maryville now plans to add more doors to the Galaxy system.
