Gaist creates advanced lifecycle modelling for Bradford Council network

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council needed a more detailed, visual, and evidence-based way to report on its highway network, support funding bids, and explain priorities to elected members and residents. Having already used SCANNER, the council turned to Gaist and its HighwayView and AssetStream products, along with carriageway, footway, and asset surveying, to gain deeper insight into road and gully condition across its network.

Gaist delivered a three-year survey programme covering roads, footways, and gullies, with detailed video and condition data that Bradford Council could use for more scientific stakeholder reporting and asset planning. The results gave the council a stronger evidence base, confirmed network conditions against staff inspections, and supported lifecycle modelling that recommended increasing preventative treatment on Grade 3 roads and considering preservation treatments for Grade 2 roads.
