Case Study: The City of Edinburgh Council improves road network planning with Gaist

A Gaist Case Study

City of Edinburgh Council delivering better places via enhanced roadscape data

The City of Edinburgh Council wanted to move beyond standard road condition reporting and build a more complete view of its road network and wider asset management, so it could make better investment decisions, reduce reactive maintenance, and avoid costly disruption. To do that, it turned to Gaist and its roadscape data and network survey service.

Gaist delivered a full network survey with high-definition drive-by imagery and multiple data sets that could be integrated with Edinburgh’s existing Confirm asset management system. The council says this has saved significant time and money compared with traditional site surveys, improved planning and scheme design, helped group repairs and maintenance more effectively, supported developer contribution mapping and funding bids, and given staff a much more accurate, holistic view of the network.
