L’Oréal, the world’s largest beauty company, was managing a highly complex global supply chain with a homegrown, Excel-based inventory planning tool that relied on manual updates and quarterly planning cycles. This approach lacked real-time visibility, optimization capabilities, and flexibility to respond quickly to demand shifts and supply disruptions.
GAINS implemented Project MEIO, an AI-driven multi-echelon inventory optimization solution, to give L’Oréal real-time, scenario-based planning across raw materials, components, semi-finished goods, and finished products. The rollout was completed across 4 divisions in under a year, improving service levels while reducing excess, expired, and obsolete inventory and freeing teams to focus on strategic planning rather than manual adjustments.
