MN Valley Nat’l Wildlife Refuge, Minnesota’s only urban wildlife refuge, needed help raising awareness for its 40th anniversary celebration and highlighting the fact that it is one of the state’s best-kept secrets. The nonprofit Minnesota Valley Trust enlisted Gage to develop an awareness campaign that could reach families and the broader community through branding, communications, and public relations.
Gage created a family-friendly anniversary celebration with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, including a custom 40th anniversary logo and sub-branding used across cupcakes, emails, signage, website, ads, social media, and a commemorative poster. Gage also led PR and outreach through multiple channels and produced a video, helping MN Valley Nat’l Wildlife Refuge surpass attendance goals by 40%, secure 23 million media impressions, grow Facebook fans by 8% and Twitter followers by 15%, and earn multiple awards.
