Xero, the online accounting software company, was growing quickly across four countries with 700 employees, but its outdated email system was slow, unreliable, and expensive to maintain. The company said the system was holding employees back, making it hard to share information, keep teams connected, and preserve a cohesive culture as the business expanded.

Xero moved to G Suite by Google Cloud, starting with Gmail and then rolling out Google Drive, Google Hangouts Meet, and Google Calendar across the company. Gmail was deployed to all employees in four weeks, and Xero migrated 99% of its documents and spreadsheets, along with 90% of its corporate files, to Google Drive. The company said G Suite reduced IT overhead, improved collaboration and productivity, and changed how work got done, with tasks that used to take weeks now taking hours.
