Case Study: Espoo strengthens future-ready education with Futures Platform

Futures Platform helps teachers to bridge the gap between school curriculum and the fast-moving world outside

Espoo’s educational administration and Otaniemi general upper secondary school wanted a better way to connect school learning with fast-changing real-world developments and help students think more critically about the future. They turned to Futures Platform and its digital foresight solution to support foresight work in education and classroom exercises.

Using Futures Platform, teachers created radars and future-scenario assignments across subjects like English, Philosophy and Ethics, helping students examine trends and write more specific, realistic future scenarios. The tool also supported education development across Espoo’s schools and was valued for using validated information; while no hard numerical results were given, teachers reported stronger student understanding and more insightful answers.
