Dunedin City Council needed a faster, less labor-intensive way to handle more than 3,500 supplier invoices a month. Before working with Fusion5 and its ApprovalPlus solution, invoices were manually entered into the finance system, physically routed for approval, and then returned for payment and filing, creating delays and paper clutter.
Fusion5 implemented ApprovalPlus to streamline invoice capture and online approvals, giving departments access to current and historical invoices. The results were significant: approval turnaround dropped from eight to ten days per month to just three days, the monthly cut-off could be extended, backlog was eliminated, and Fusion5 helped reduce data entry staffing needs by 1.5 people.
