Penrith City Council, the second largest metropolitan council in New South Wales, needed to modernize its HR and payroll environment after an ICT audit recommended a cloud-first strategy and upgrades to its systems. The council had used Fusion5’s EmpowerHR for years, but it wanted a more flexible, current, and future-ready solution, so it evaluated moving to Fusion5’s Cloud5 service.
Fusion5 migrated EmpowerHR, upgraded it to the latest version, and added new Performance Management, eRecruitment, Onboarding, and TimeFiler integration capabilities. The project successfully moved 15 years of HR and payroll data to Cloud5, went live on time and under budget, and supported two successful pay runs before the old servers were decommissioned, giving Penrith City Council a more accessible and secure cloud platform.
