Sedgman Limited, an engineering and project delivery firm serving the mining industry, needed a more cost-effective service desk as commodity pressures drove a search for efficiencies. Its existing ServiceNow cloud solution had more functionality than needed and was becoming too expensive, so Sedgman turned to Fusion5 and Ivanti Service Management in the cloud.
Fusion5 helped Sedgman migrate to Ivanti Service Management, using Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Service Request modules. The new platform reduced costs immediately, paid for itself within the first year, and improved workflow automation across IT and business processes. Sedgman also cut paper-based requests and sped up approvals, with tasks like mobile phone requests dropping from 30 minutes to minutes, while self-service helped reduce the monthly incident volume from about 800 and continuing to decline.
