The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) needed to make its complex long-term care data on over 784,600 beneficiaries accessible to non-technical government stakeholders. Their challenge was to create visualizations that would clearly show healthcare disparities and trends, filterable by multiple criteria like county and ethnicity, without requiring any user training. FuseLab Creative designed and developed a suite of interactive, mobile-responsive dashboards. The solution used specific visualization types like choropleth maps for geographic data and Sankey diagrams for age group data, chosen to match the structure of the data and user needs.
